The Land
The proposed Master Plan relates to the former University of NSW (UNSW) Little Bay campus.
Situated in the southern end of the Randwick City Council (RCC) local government area, 14 kilometres from the CBD of Sydney, the land is immediately adjacent to the magnificent coastal corridor that runs from the Botany Bay National Park in the south through to Malabar Headland in the north.
The land area is approximately 14 hectares, and is bound by The Coast Golf Course to the east, Anzac Parade to the west, medium density housing to the north and the Prince Henry precinct to the south.
Sports fields and associated facilities are currently located on the western half of the site (adjacent to Anzac Parade), with the former UNSW Biological Resources buildings occupying the eastern section. The property is broken by two large dams, created by previous mining activity, which are located generally in the central corridor.
The property is well seviced by public transport, linking it to local centres such as Malabar, Maroubra Junction, Kingsford and Kensington, and to important regional and recreational facilities such as La Perouse, UNSW, Prince of Wales Hospital and Centennial Park.
